“Life is unpredictable,
It changes with the seasons,
Even your coldest winter,
Happens for the best of reasons,
And though it feels eternal,
Like all you’ll ever do is freeze,
I promise spring is coming,
And with it, brand new leaves”
[Erin Hanson]
I read this poem recently and resonated with how my last 2 years have felt. Unsteady. Unpredictable. Confusing. Difficult. But also impactful. Enriching. Lively. Fruitful.
God has truly blown my mind with this next chapter of life. When I was traveling with the World Race, my kingdom dream was to lead Americans on short term mission trips. Then COVID happened.
It’s been a series of patient rerouting’s to get me to where I am today. I couldn’t be more awestruck to be working with AIM to plan, prepare, and lead Americans on short term trips!
I write this update from the Denver airport waiting for my connecting flight to Albuquerque New Mexico. Over the next week I get to help facilitate a women’s retreat called Beauty for Ashes! Myself and 14 other women will be staying at and serving the women within the Navajo Indian Reservation. I’m so excited and I’ll let you know how it goes!
Prayer requests:
- that the American Indian women experience the Lord in a new way this week!
- support raising! I’m currently 52% funded for my annual salary ($1,400 away from my monthly goal)!
- all the short term trips happening this summer! For logistics, ample ministry opportunities and the participants to come eager and open to what the Lord has planned!
Let me know how I can be praying for you!
I like your connection to your wait period and the poem! Spring- and all the wonders it brings.
Praying for you and the team going to serve in NM!
Thank you Cindy! 🙂
Thanks for the enduring heart ?? . God is with the patient ones . More grace to you and keeping going , Uganda once again welcomes you .
I love that poem! You are going to have a great week and you will bless every person you come in contact with in Jesus name!
Thank you David, hope to see you all again soon!
Yes! Thanks Lo 🙂
May I have permission to print your poem in the newsletter I edit at Southern Plaza Christian Retirement Community where I reside in Bethany, OK (basically OKC)?
(My association with Adventures is that Seth Barnes’ mother was very influential in my life 40 years ago.)
Yes! I didn’t write it, Erin Hanson is the author of the poem 🙂 she’s a poet. Thanks for reading my blog!
