Hello Hello!
I hope this update finds you well and enjoying whatever spring holds for you!
I’m currently writing from a local coffee shop in Cincinnati, drinking an iced lavender latte on a beautiful warm and sunny day.
I just wanted to give a quick update on life before summer truly kicks off and trips are going!
God spoke a phrase to me a few weeks ago that hasn’t left my mind much since. It truly encompasses my desire; and not just for me this summer, but any and everyone reading this.
“Fresh Wind”
I’m sure you can relate to a time in your life that felt stagnant or mundane. A feeling of checking things off a list rather than connecting to and embracing what life has to offer. When God spoke ‘fresh wind’ to me in April it was as if He was confirming that He has and wants good things for me (for all of us). He doesn’t desire anyone to feel stagnant. Or complacent. Or ‘just getting by.’ I have been so encouraged by what Jesus says at the end of John 10:10 …
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Another translation says “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
Well hallelujah! Jesus doesn’t intend for us to just ‘get by.’ So why should we? I think it’s so important to note that the beginning of John 10:10 says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” The ‘thief’ referring to Satan of course. And what better way to do those things than to convince us we don’t deserve or aren’t worthy of having a rich and satisfying life. But thank God, because Jesus literally says otherwise. He has the abundant life to offer. He is the source of rich and satisfying. Not our jobs, our relationships or our hobbies. He can be found in those things, but ultimately isn’t those things. Again, hallelujah!!
Anyways.. I just wanted to end with this.. You are deserving of a life filled with joy, by The One who is the actual source of joy. Jesus! Don’t let the thief tell you otherwise.
Prayer requests:
- Upcoming mission trips! I’ll be leading youth groups to Chicago (June 9-15), Manchester, New Hampshire (June 16-24), Bismarck, North Dakota (July 5-13) and Mayfield, Kentucky (July 30-August 5)! Prayers for safe travels, lots of excited and expectant teenagers, ample ministry and lots of heart change!
- Support raising! I’m currently 60% funded for my salary through Adventures in Missions! I’m in need of *monthly* supporters who feel led to be generous with their finances! (I have about $1200 left to raise ongoing monthly)
- Being able to find time to rest and recharge throughout the summer!
Let me know how I can be praying for you!!
